Last year my preschool class made themselves into The Cat in the Hat, one of Dr. Seuss’s amazing characters! They had so much fun and they turned out darling. I got the idea from The First Grade Parade Blog (I believe, it has been so long I can’t quiet remember), and I decided to make up my own template for my students. If you haven’t ever looked at The First Grade Parade Blog, you need to. Mrs. Carroll is hilarious, and she shares amazing ideas from her first grade classroom.
Here are the materials that we used to create our Cat in the Hats.
Here are a few samples up close. They were even more darling in person. The only thing I would have done differently is had them use a black marker to draw the details on their faces and then color them with crayons. A lot of the faces were super cute but the pencil made it hard to see the details.

Awesome template! My favorite part is the bow tie. I've seen people add hats before, but never anyone who also added the bow tie. It makes it even cuter.
You did a great job with the template.
