I am SO EXCITED to share with you my NEW, “The Magic Hat Themed Learning Unit”, which can be found at my Etsy Store, LearnandGrow.etsy.com
The reason I am so excited about this learning unit is because it is my first unit where I drew all of the main illustrations myself. Yeah! I had so much fun doing this, but it was also a lot of work. My favorite illustrations were probably the kangaroo and baboon. So look for those!
This learning unit is inspired by the book, The Magic Hat, by Mem Fox. It is a fun, magical story.
Look below at all of the of the wonderful learning activities that come with “The Magic Hat Themed Learning Unit”:Your purchase comes as a 20 page PDF digital file. Below are details of The Magic Hat Learning Unit’s contents (click on photo to enlarge):Here is a detailed look at each activity you will receive.
The Magic Hat Writing Prompt
(If your child is not quiet old enough to write they can simply draw a picture instead.)
The Magic Hat 9 Piece Puzzle Magical Numbers Math Game
(this game helps with number recognition and one to one correspondence for the numbers 1-20)
The Magic Hat Story Sequencing Cards
The Magic Hat Art Project
(color and assemble your own magic hat just like the story) My children loved this activity because once they made their own magic hat they were placing it on their heads and pretending to be turned into different things (like a toad, princess, dog, kangaroo, etc.). It is great for Dramatic Play. The Magic Hat Coloring Page
(My daughter colored the picture on the left for me. Too cute!)
The Magic Hat Rhyming File Folder Game
(what a fun way to practice your rhyming skills, which are such important reading skills)
The Magic Hat Story Prompts
(these can be turned into puppets to retell the story, felt pieces, etc.)
The Magic Hat Three Part Puzzles
(I think these turned out so cute. My girls loved putting them together the correct way, and then they thought they were so funny by mixing up the pieces of the puzzles.)
Last but not least, here is your FREE DOWNLOAD. You will receive your own copy of The Magic Hat Art Project. Now your children/students can be magically transformed into anything their imagination can think of.
What is your favorite activity in this unit?

Wow! Congratulations, Shauna! This is a major accomplishment. I, too, also love creating literature units, but I wish I had your amazing artistic talent! I'm so excited for you. I haven't ever read this story, but I love Mem Fox, so I am definitely going to check it out!
Oh, I forgot… my favorite part is the sequencing cards!
you are just amazing. I am so glad you are sharing your talents with all of us (non-talented) people! 🙂

By the way, I'm guest posting for another blogger. She asked me to write about parenting resources and I've included you on my list. I'm sure the other moms would love your blog as well.
Will let you know when the post goes live.
